Full Flower Moon

May in the Northland is indeed focused on flowers, and the full moon of May highlights the fact with it's nickname " Full Flower Moon".
Lighthouses, Lake Superior, calm water, warm weather, and a full moon combined to make for a beautiful evening on the Duluth Lakewalk. It's evenings like this that makes residents remember why they live here and visitors wish they could.

Rise and Shine

A Lake Superior Sunrise sheds light on the incoming American Integrity. The shoreline has a magnified beauty at 5:30AM and the smells, sounds, and sights combine to make a scene worth remembering.

I can't count the number of times that I have watched this unveiling of the day, and I never get tired of it. It is like watching the hand of God sweep across a painters canvas, leaving a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, never to be duplicated and always magnificent. The colors are soon washed away by daylight, but, the memory lingers, and settles into the soul.

Enjoy the view!

God's Country

A loon calls in the distance while a lone fisherman starts his engine and heads for home. This scene is repeated time and again throughout the summer on Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and it always brings a calm to ones soul. For at least this moment, the worries of life dim with the fading light of day, and things just seem right.
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

A fresh blanket of May snow fell across the region Friday covering spring flowers and leaving a reminder that summer isn't here quit yet.
